Comandulli Omega 100

The Comandulli Omega 100 is an automatic multi-spindle edge polishing machine designed for processing marble, granite and other stone materials.

Designed for a wide range of finishing applications, the Omega 100 can process steps, window sills, worktops and other components with material thicknesses from 10 to 100 mm.

The machine can perform a variety of operations including calibration and gauging, straight-edge polishing, upper and lower grooves, bevels, sloping cuts and polishing, quirk mitres (QM), slot cuts, bullnose profiles and regular rounded profiles including quarter and half bullnose.

These processes can be carried out automatically, reducing the need for manual operator intervention during the processing cycle.

Machine Features

The Omega 100 is built around a fully machined, electro-welded steel structure.

The machine is protected against corrosion through a multi-stage treatment process incorporating sandblasting, metallisation and painting. Painted covers undergo cataphoresis treatment, while the main covers are manufactured from stainless steel.

Its specialised conveyor belt system uses idle rollers beneath the belt to guide it within dedicated grooves, converting sliding friction into rolling friction. Combined with pneumatic slab-locking pistons, this allows edges to be polished without the need for a contrast bar.

The edge-polishing group features an oscillating lever system operated by electronically controlled hydraulic pistons. The oscillating mechanism is housed within dedicated oil-bath enclosures.

Edge-polishing motors are hydraulically operated, while each spindle works independently for greater control throughout the processing cycle.

The Omega 100 can process slabs of different thicknesses consecutively and incorporates a water collection tank with two lateral outlets.

Intelligent Control

A colour touchscreen provides straightforward control of the machine, including adjustment of conveyor belt speed.

The Omega 100 also features a dedicated program for creating and polishing conical bevels.

Its Dynamic/Smart Belt Speed function automatically adjusts conveyor speed during the processing cycle according to the operation being performed and the tooling in use. This helps optimise the production cycle and reduce unnecessary downtime.

A modern hydraulic unit is also incorporated to improve energy efficiency.
