Comandulli Emerald

The Comandulli Emerald is an innovative, next-generation automatic edge polishing machine, developed as the larger counterpart to the widely established Ruby.

Its compact design provides excellent accessibility while combining precision, reliability and production flexibility. Advanced pneumatic and electronic components, updated management software and modern materials further enhance the machine's automated capabilities and performance.

The Emerald is designed for fabricators who require maximum flexibility in production. An additional tooling position expands its capabilities for cutting, shaping and underside polishing.

The machine can simultaneously process different materials, sizes and thicknesses, from thicker slabs through to ultra-thin materials and bonded pieces, including mitred and laminated kitchen worktops.

The Emerald can also connect to company ICT networks and external software, with support for remote programming.

Machine Features

The Emerald is built around a fully machined, electro-welded steel structure.

The machine is protected against corrosion through a multi-stage treatment process incorporating sandblasting, metallisation and painting. Painted covers undergo cataphoresis treatment, while the main covers are manufactured from stainless steel.

Its specialised conveyor belt and pneumatic slab-locking system allow edges to be polished without the need for a contrast bar.

The 600 mm wide conveyor belt features variable speed control, with automatic speed adjustment available through the machine's control panel. The belt runs across stainless-steel support plates.

Each spindle operates independently, providing greater control throughout the processing cycle.

A water collection tank with two lateral outlets is incorporated into the machine, while solenoid valves automatically control water flow to help reduce unnecessary water consumption.

Automated Production

Two sensors automatically detect the shape of material entering the machine, including irregular pieces such as winding steps and bonded components.

An additional sensor measures slab thickness and automatically regulates the multipurpose unit and the position of the upper bevelling units.

Maintenance requirements are reduced through an integrated belt-cleaning system and automatic lubrication.

Combining automated material detection, flexible processing capabilities and Comandulli's established edge-polishing technology, the Emerald provides a versatile solution for fabricators handling a wide variety of materials, profiles and workpiece thicknesses.
