Breton Hydra
he Breton Hydra is a 5-axis waterjet cutting centre designed for processing natural stone, quartzite, ceramic and compound stone.
Its rigid bridge structure, integrated tank and galvanised slat table provide a stable platform for accurate cutting while helping to protect material during processing.
Ultra-Compact 5-Axis Head
The Hydra features an ultra-compact cutting head with advanced 5-axis kinematics, offering C-axis movement of ±540° and A-axis movement of ±60°.
This allows the machine to produce complex geometries and extreme angled cuts, including corners and conical holes, with tolerances of up to ±0.1 mm with compensation across a 4 × 2 m working area.
Standard equipment includes an intrinsically safe ON/OFF pneumatic valve, mixing chamber and focusing tube set.
KMT Streamline SL-VI Pump
The KMT Streamline SL-VI pump is supplied as standard and delivers pressures of up to 3,800 bar / 60,000 psi.
Designed for demanding waterjet applications, the system combines high-pressure cutting performance with controlled abrasive consumption and simplified maintenance.
MiterWave Touch
Breton's MiterWave Touch system uses decimal surface reading to communicate directly with the numerical control.
Axis positions are adjusted in real time to maintain the required cutting angle, allowing the Hydra to produce accurate 45° mitre cuts even when processing thin or uneven materials.
Electronic Abrasive Dosing
An electronic dosing unit monitors the supply of abrasive during cutting.
If abrasive is not detected, the Safety System automatically stops the water flow, helping to protect the workpiece and reduce the risk of waste or reworking.
CAD/CAM Control
Programming can be managed using ZM Technologies or Taglio Logotag CAD/CAM software, supporting the process from DXF import through to CNC-ready ISO code.
Combining 5-axis waterjet cutting, automatic surface compensation and high-pressure cutting technology, the Breton Hydra provides fabricators with a flexible solution for complex cutting applications across a wide range of materials.
