Following its showcase at Marmomac 2026, we’re taking a closer look at one of the latest additions to the Comandulli range – the new Onyx.
Developed specifically to produce high speed high quality pencil round profiles. Over twice the speed of previous pencil round models.
Designed for Pencil-Round Processing
The Onyx has been developed with a particular focus on pencil-round edge production, bringing together Comandulli’s established edge-polishing experience with its latest machine technology.
The machine features seven flat heads alongside 8 bevel polish heads. It can work with both solid and bonded pieces, making it suitable for a range of worktop and stone fabrication applications.
By moving more of the edge-finishing process onto an automated machine, fabricators can reduce their reliance on manual finishing while achieving greater consistency across repeat production.
Comandulli TMM Technology
At the heart of the Onyx is Comandulli’s established TMM technology.
The system is designed to accurately follow the material during processing, helping the machine produce consistent profiles even when working with variations in the slab.
For the Onyx, Comandulli has incorporated its TMM4 calibrated chamfer technology alongside four upper and four lower radius/chamfer units, providing the flexibility required for different edge profiles.
Automation for Modern Stone Fabrication
For fabricators producing worktops and other finished stone products, edge processing can represent a significant part of the production process.
Automating more of this work can help reduce repetitive manual finishing, improve consistency and allow skilled operators to concentrate on other areas of production.
